Headquartered in Tampa, Florida, Tunungua Farms specializes in developing premium Arabica coffee farms and brands. Our flagship farm, “El Castillo,” is located in Tunungua, Colombia, and has cultivated high-quality Arabica coffee since 1787. Nestled in the remote Andes mountain range, this historic region is the birthplace of Colombian coffee.
We are members of the Colombian Coffee Growers Federation (Federacion Nacional de Cafeteros de Colombia or FNC), the Cafe de Colombia alliance, and co-owners of the Juan Valdez Cafe brand.

Tunungua Farms Colombian Coffee is grown from 100% natural seeds produced by Cenicafe. Cenicafe is the scientific branch of the Colombian Coffee Growers Federation (FNC), the Cafe de Colombia® alliance, and the Juan Valdez® brands. Since 1938, Cenicafe has performed intensive research to produce the world’s best-tasting and heartiest coffee. For over 80 years they have carefully selected only the finest, healthiest, most productive Arabica coffee for propagation. This work has developed the Castillo and Cenicafe varieties that are grown at Tunungua Farms.
Over 80 years of research making sure that every cup the world enjoys is perfect.

Tunungua Farms Colombian Coffee is grown by selecting only the heartiest coffee seedlings to be transplanted from our greenhouses to the field. Only about 50% meet our high standards. Any coffee plants that grow below expectations on our plantations get replaced with new seedlings. We do this to ensure our crops’ overall health and sustainability without using unnecessary chemical pesticides and fertilizers.
Producing 250,000 new seedlings a year

Tunungua Farms Colombian Coffee is grown on high Andean Mountain slopes. The volcanic soil, annual rainfall, natural flora, fauna, and high altitudes of 1200–1,800 meters provide the perfect environment for growing Arabica coffee. Here all of nature works together to grow the world’s favorite coffee.
Using advanced Agro-Forestry techniques

At Tunungua Farms Colombian Coffee, the people who work here have always been and always will be our most important asset. Over 60% of all the coffee produced worldwide is grown under unsafe and unethical conditions. Tunungua Farms is proud that everyone on our farms enjoys an above-average salary, a 40-hour work week, medical/dental benefits, paid vacations, optional educational programs, and a share of our profits.
We love coffee, but we love the people that produce it even more
